Yesterday, a breakthrough happened… an event took place that was truly significant and that hasn’t been achieved before. The two neighbors, India and Pakistan, signed an agreement making the lives of millions of people significantly easier by relaxing the visa restrictions. This is something that people have been fighting and struggling towards for ages and finally we have it.
But is this a story that has actually been celebrated across the nation? The answer is a flat, big “NO”!
The focus is once more on the blunder that PPP has done… with regards to the Local Body Ordinance. Now I am not saying that it should be ignored. I mean focus on it with all the might you want, but that doesn’t mean that we can ignore, a very historical event that has just happened.
It seems like one big controversy against the Present Government and I am appalled!
Politics is a dirty game, and more than that it is a game that requires wit, cunningness and the recognition of the opportunity when it comes in front of you. Imran Khan, right now, is doing the same, however whether that opportunity is worth the risk is another debate. But there is no doubt that his popularity has today risen to a level where if you are not a Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaaf supporter, you are bound to get some serious lashing and ultimately leading to the conclusion, “Oh that means you are a Zardari supporter”, *SIGH* (But more on PPP later).

In its initial days, there was little buzz regarding this party and the supporters that you would find on the streets were few and far between. His charismatic appeal was still his Cancer hospital and the 1992 World Cup victory. But beyond this, there is little in him that can attest to his leadership qualities.
Founded in the year 1996, the man’s leadership capabilities were being judged by the way he led the team in 1992, and as the only victory to his name, there was little or nothing more to attest to his Political Career. The initial members who joined the party were much in awe of this man. But there was another reason as well, or so is my analysis. Continue reading
Listening to a new item on the radio today, a single thought occurred to me “What the hell is wrong with the Judiciary?” Now that seems to be a question that has been asked by almost everyone in the last few days! So there is nothing new there! But in all seriousness, just for emphasis, let me say it again. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE JUDICIARY?”
It actually seems the judiciary has limited its role to simply making the Government look bad! More so it seems that the most important role of the judiciary as an institute has become to just be a hindrance in the Governments path!
Every decision that the Government takes is called in for accountability almost immediately by the Higher Courts, and it actually seems that half the time the Government is making rounds of the courts!
In their self-belief that they are doing the right thing, the Apex Courts are forgetting that if it is about revenge, then they are taking it out on the wrong party. And if it is about doing the right thing, then you first need to re-consider the recent verdict on Mukhtaran Mai‘s case.
In all honestly, I seriously feel that this Government has hardly had any break to actually continue working seriously! If it isn’t MQM making a fuss, it is the Judiciary playing all God-like!
And it has to be said, that the failure of this Government is because of such hindrances!
