Gone to the Dogs?

How many times in a day do you exclaim, “This country has gone to the dogs”? I am assuming that it must be at least once in a day when KESC decides to shut down the electricity! And then considering that the light goes out for at least 3 hours everyday, that’s 3 times in a day then! Then there is the traffic in which you are stuck, the strikes, the riot, the increase in prices, The every other day strike, etc.

But if you are like me, than that statement, while continues to linger on at the back of your head somewhere, it is no longer a serious belief with which you attach yourself. you learn to move on, and IT IS EXACTLY THIS WITH WHICH I HAVE A PROBLEM!

This is not a post about something specific! Because the number of things that are bothering me at the moment is so long that I would need to write for two months constantly just to fill in all that is bothering me at the moment.

But for sure, this country has gone to the dogs!

After the riots last week, in which MQM leader was shot in his home in the early hours, the chaos, apparently by unnamed extremists, is  enough to make even a blind man scream out, “You idiots!”.

And one accusation, whether false or not, was enough for Rehman Malik the Great to put two people on the ECL. no investigation, no fact findings by your own state machinery, just one claim by one stupid MQM representative and that’s it!

Lets vent more shall we!

PPP, have you freaking lost your mind? You could not find any other area where the terrorist are hiding except Lyari? Why are you so much against your own people and your own vote bank? And is pleasing MQM so important that you would rather lose sight of what is sane and what is not? I am not even going to say right and wrong here, because apparently in politics those words are worth little.

And what about the Supreme Court (indeed)! Hey Mr. Chief Justice, I mother didn’t make nice food yesterday, you want to take suo-moto notice on that too?

This country is becoming more and more of a joke every single day

Mr. MQM Leaders, both in and outside the country with their British Passport.. if you may please answer the following Questions?!

Dear Mr. MQM Leaders, both in and outside the country with their British Passport,

My Salutations to you, which are to be followed with a lot of questions, which I hope that you would be able to find time to answer among all the bloody target killing politics that you have to deal with.

I hope that you would not take any hard feelings towards these and would treat them as nothing more, but the thinking of an idle mind who was stuck at home for 4 days because of the things in the city caused by your rift with ANP noble plans to rid the city of the terrorist that live in a certain hill in the city! Therefore my first question to you follows the very reasonable question regarding your cause.

  1. Why have you taken upon yourself to rid the city of these terrorist that live in a certain city?
  2. Why are you so whiny demanding to the extent of being stubborn, like a 16 year old dumb chick?
  3. What makes you so special that you think that only, as per your words, you deserve the urban centers of Sindh deserve the Local Government Ordinance? Continue reading

Been wanting to write for long….

..but some how I just could not make myself sit down and write it all down. It could be the keyboard’s fault ( I love this new one) or the fact that not indulging myself in music at full volumes every few weeks make me go weird, or it could simply be that I just didn’t know how to verbalize my thoughts about the topic which I have wanted to write for a while. But whatever the reason be, here I am! And I am typing away!

Karachi is becoming a very unpredictable city. it is losing all that I cherished about it slowly. before you could out till the early hours of the morning and not have a worry in your head. the city was so alive. I remember we never used to worry about going to the market, because we knew that it would be open till at least 1 or so. But now things are changing so drastically.

Karachi in flames.. again and again and again!

If it’s not the rains, then it would be some son of a bitch dying, some random shoot out which makes no sense to you, a prediction that something will happen, but something or the other is always there to terrorize the Karachities and make sure that they make their way home as soon as possible. this fear has simply taken away the spirit of the city.

A few days back for some research I was in Ranchore line, and talking to people and trying to get a few survey, that all of a sudden gun shots were fired, the shops shutters closed down, and the person I was interviewing – a woman – started questioning me in the most weirdest manner that who am I ? Why am I here ? What was the purpose of my visit? It was the same day that 6 people had been killed at SherShah Market for no reason at all! Just a random shoot out. Another day in the city’s history! Nothing unusual anymore in Karachi! Continue reading
